ETSU trio falls at USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 23, 2010) - Members of the ETSU men's tennis team fell in the second round of main draw singles play at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Saturday at the University of Kentucky.
The Bucs got off to a strong start on Friday as Sander Gille (Kuringen, Belgium) who is the 11th ranked player in the field, earned a tough three set victory over Maks Gold of Kentucky. Gille continued his strong play as he defeated Dalton Albertin of Ball State in the second round  6-3, 6-2. He saw his run end, however, as he was defeated by seventh seeded Simon Childs of Louisville 6-1, 6-1.
Grega Teraz (Mojstrana, Slovenia) also earned a come from behind three set victory in the opening round of play yesterday. Teraz was defeated by Szymon Tatarczyk of Purdue 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore Jesus Bandres (Caracas, Venezuela) fell to third-seeded Austin Childs of Louisville in round two 6-0, 6-2.
Jeremy Bonnevalle (Keerbergen, Belgium) earned a victory in the conolation round over Bryce Warren of Butler 6-7 (5), 6-1, 10-5. Juan Ramirez (Asuncion, Paraguay) was also victorious in the consolation round as he knocked off Richard Canelas of Xavier 6-3, 6-4.
The event will move back to UK's campus Sunday with the doubles semifinals, singles quarterfinals, semifinals and the conclusion of the singles consolation. Both the singles and doubles finals will be played at UK on Monday. All time are ET and subject to change.
