ETSU freshman Jorge Varon advances to finals of gold singles at UVA Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE
, Va. (Sep. 11, 2010) - ETSU freshman Jorge Varon (Valencia, Venezuela) picked up two victories and advanced to the finals of the gold singles draw at the UVA Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
Varon defeated Ben Guthrie of William and Mary to start the day, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, before defeating Kujumdzic of Virginia Tech, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Varon will take on C. Soloman of VCU in the finals at 11 a.m.
 
The other ETSU freshman, Roger Ordeig (Gurb, Spain) defeated Milner of Virginia, 6-4, 0-6, 10-6. Ordeig then defeated Survavic of Maryland, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7. He will face Haskin of Cornell tomorrow at 11 a.m.
