Bottoni falls in the first round of NCAA Singles Championship
Wednesday, May 26, 2010 ATHENS, Ga. (May 26, 2010) - Despite being only the third-ever ETSU men's tennis player to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship junior Charles Bottoni (Bois Guillaume, France) could not overcome one of the top ranked competitors in the field as the Buc upperclassman fell to Florida's Alex Lacroix Wednesday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. After holding serve the first game, Bottoni could not overcome Lacroix's power as the seventh-ranked singles player in the nation rolled to the early 6-1 first-set win. As set two got underway Bottoni again held his first serve before Lacroix cruised in the second frame, 6-1.
