MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (September 24, 2006) - Led by junior Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) the ETSU men's tennis team earned four titles over the weekend at the 20th Annual MTSU Fall Invitational. Serrano won the Flight A3 singles title, his second title of the tournament.

Serrano defeated Chris Rea in semifinals action, 6-3, 2-6, 10-7, before claiming the Flight A3 title defeating Kiril Tcherveniachki of Tennessee, 7-5, 7-5. Serrano and doubles partner Daniel Isaza (Medellin, Colombia) also brought home the Flight B1 doubles title on Saturday.

In Flight B2 singles, newcomer Predrag Burmazovic (Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro) earned the third title of the tournament as he defeated Armstrong Atlantic's Kevin Sijmon 6-0, 6-4 before cruising to an easy victory over Mpiloenhle Migogo of Indiana State, 6-2, 6-3.

Alex Ahlgren (Tyreso, Sweden) and Ricardo Rojas (Caracas, Venezuela) both advanced to an all-ETSU final match which will be held on Monday afternoon. Ahlgren defeated Michael Locandro of Birmingham Southern, 6-1, 6-2 and Diego Martinez of Troy 6-2, 6-2, while Rojas advanced after Colin Van der Hel of Troy withdrew and then defeated Martin Crockett of Birmingham Southern, 6-0, 6-0.

Overnight and early-morning showers pushed the main draw indoors for the second straight day, with the consolation draws canceled.

"Overall, I think we are showing that we can compete with most of the teams in the nation. We are proving that we are extremely deep in the middle and low positions. I believe that we are extremely strong and we've got depth which is something we've never had before," said head coach Yaser Zaatini.

The Buccaneers will continue fall tournament play traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. to compete in the UNC Fall Invitational September 28 to October 1. For all ETSU men's tennis action visit www.etsubucs.com/mtennis.
