(Feb. 11, 2006) - The ETSU men's tennis team fell to No. 2 University of Georgia, 6-0 at the Lindsay Hopkins Indoor Courts in Athens, Ga. The Bucs are now 4-4 on the year while the Bulldogs improve to 3-0 with the win.

Action began with Georgia claiming the doubles point with wins in all three positions. At the No. 1 doubles position, junior Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) and freshman Juan Crosa (Asuncion, Paraguay) were defeated after a hard fought match by John Isner and Luis Flores 8-6. In No. 2 doubles, senior Felix Insaurralde (Asuncion, Paraguay) and junior Lisandro Picardo (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) fell to the No. 6 ranked doubles team of Strahinja Bobusic and Colin Purcell, 8-6, while in No. 3 doubles, freshman Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) and sophomore Sebastian Serrano (Cartagena, Colombia) were defeated by Joshua Varela and Ricardo Gonzales, 8-6.

The Bulldogs also dominated in singles action, winning five of the six matches. At the No. 2 position, Felix Insaurralde was defeated by No. 2 John Isner, 6-3, 6-2 while Juan Crosa was defeated by No. 12 Strahinja Bobusic, 7-6, (3), 6-0 in the No. 3 spot. The match between Lisandro Picardo and No. 96 Matic Omerzel was suspended when the Bulldogs clinched the match.

"We had a chance in every one of these matches; it's just getting the guys to realize that. You want to go hard but it just takes time to build a tradition," said head coach Yaser Zaatini.

The Buccaneers next match is scheduled for Feb. 22, at the University of California-Riverside at 1:30 p.m.
