ETSU men's and women's soccer teams earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Nov. 22, 2013) - For the third consecutive year, both the ETSU men's and women's soccer teams received the NSCAA Team Academic Award. ETSU was one of just 186 schools nationwide to have both teams recognized with the award.

This year marks the fifth consecutive season the women's team has received the distinction and the ninth time overall. The Bucs compiled a cumulative team GPA of 3.53, ranking 22nd in the nation.

The men's team has received the award the past three years. The squad maintained a 3.26 team GPA en route to winning the program's second Atlantic Sun Championship.

ETSU saw three players earn Atlantic Sun All-Academic First Team honors this season, with Sarah Zadrazil (St. Gilgen, Austria), Kristoffer Ibsen (Aalborg, Denmark), and Ryan Coulter (Dublin, Ireland) each being recognized for their academic achievements.

ETSU was one of seven Atlantic Sun member institutions to have both teams receive the NSCAA Team Academic Award along with Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Mercer, North Florida, Stetson, and USC Upstate.

All ten Atlantic Sun women's soccer programs won the award.
