Thursday, October 14, 2010

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 14, 2010) - The ETSU men's soccer team will look to stay perfect at home this weekend as the Bucs face Jacksonville and North Florida in Atlantic Sun Conference play at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

The Bucs, who have won eight straight at home dating back to last season, host Jacksonville at 7 p.m. on Friday night, while the UNF contest is slated for 2 p.m. on Sunday.

ETSU (7-4-0, 2-2-0 A-Sun) is coming off of tough weekend as the Bucs dropped two road A-Sun contests to Stetson 2-0 and FGCU 5-0. The Bucs are a perfect 5-0 at Summers-Taylor in 2010 including conference wins against Campbell and Mercer. Junior Aaron Schoenfeld (Knoxville, Tenn.) is ranked first in the conference in shots with 41 on the year and is also tied for the team lead in goals with freshman David Geno (Kingsport, Tenn.) with three.

The Dolphins lead the all-time series against ETSU 2-0, while the series between the Bucs and Ospreys is tied at 1-all. The Bucs are 7-13-2 in conference play in the programs brief history.

Jacksonville (6-5-1, 1-2-0 A-Sun) comes into the contest having dropped both of its games last weekend to Belmont 3-2 and Lipscomb 4-2. JU's Nedim Hurstic leads the A-Sun with seven goals on the season, while Darko Karamatic is only two spots back of Hurstic with five.

UNF (1-7-0, 0-3-0 A-Sun) enters the weekend on a four-game losing streak with the Ospreys only win coming against Longwood. North Florida came up short against Belmont and Lipscomb last weekend as the Ospreys are looking for their first conference win. Rickey Lawrence leads the way for UNF as he has tallied two goals, two assists and six points.
