JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2010)
- The ETSU men's soccer team is set to open Atlantic Sun conference play as they host Campbell and Mercer this week at Summers-Taylor Stadium to close out a five-game homestand.

The Bucs face the Camels on Thursday at 7 p.m., while Saturday's match against the Bears is also slated for 7 p.m.

ETSU (5-2-0, 0-0-0 A-Sun) comes into the week ranked eighth in the NSCAA South Region after defeating Marshall and UNC Asheville in overtime. Junior Aaron Schoenfeld (Knoxville, Tenn.) received Atlantic Sun Player of the Week and College Soccer News National Team of the Week honors after netting both game-winning goals last week. Schoenfeld leads the team with three goals on the season.

The Bucs are 0-2-0 all-time against Campbell, while they have a 0-1-1 record against Mercer. ETSU is 5-11-2 all-time in A-Sun play since starting the program in 2008.

The Camels (2-2-3, 0-0-0 A-Sun) have played a tough non-conference schedule defeating 23rd ranked Charlotte 2-1 at home. Campbell has gone 2-0-1 in its last three contests after defeating Appalachian State 1-0 this past weekend. Khalil Johnson is the only Camel with multiple goals on the season.

Mercer (4-1-1, 0-0-0 A-Sun) boasts the best record heading into conference play as the Bears have won two straight against Georgia State and VMI. The Bears play USC Upstate on Thursday before coming to town on Saturday. Mercer is led by Ian Cameron as he has tallied three goals and seven points on the year.

Fans who donate a new or gently used book on Saturday at the Mercer game will receive admission for only a Buc ($1).
