JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 10, 2010) - With the ETSU women's soccer season already in progress, and the men's soccer season set to get underway in less than a week, lights are being installed at Summers-Taylor Stadium to allow for night games for the first time at ETSU.
"This is an exciting step in the development of our soccer complex," said ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dave Mullins. "I think this will be an exciting improvement for our fans and will allow for us to have better crowds at night than we did with afternoon games. We have several featured night games this season including a game against nationally ranked North Carolina in October. Hopefully this improvement will allow for us to get as many fans out for those games as we can."
The scheduled completion date for the work to be finished is Sept. 5. The ETSU women's soccer team will see its first action Thursday as the Bucs travel to Charleston Southern for a 4 p.m. exhibition match, while the men's team opens its exhibition season on Aug. 21 at Wofford.
