BUIES CREEK, N.C. (Oct. 10, 2009) - A late goal by Campbell's Keegan Terry was the difference as the ETSU men's soccer team fell to Campbell 4-3 on Saturday at Eakes Athletic Complex in Buies Creek, N.C.

"It was one of the strangest games I have ever been involved in with four penalty kicks," said head coach Scott Calabrese. "We started slowly, but played our way back into the game. We came out in the second half and really took control of the game. When it comes down to it we just need to convert our chances. If we can do that then we will get positive results."

The Bucs (1-6-3, 0-2-1 A-Sun) outshot the Camels (4-6-1, 3-0-1 A-Sun) 18-9 in the match and had an 8-4 advantage in corners. Senior Scott Rosman (Kenner, La.) had two saves on the day.

Campbell got on the board in the 8th minute as Pat Danford headed a pass from Keegan Terry into the back of the net to give the Camels a 1-0 lead.

The Bucs battled back to even the match at 1-all in the 20th minute as Guilherme Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) converted an ETSU penalty kick for his first goal of the season. Freshman Alesi Osorio (Austin, Texas) looked to give the Buccaneers the lead in the 27th minute, but Campbell's Ted Awana just got enough of Osorio's shot to send it over the crossbar for a corner.

The Camels regained the lead 2-1 in the 30th minute as Vince Petrasso scored on a penalty kick after the Bucs were whistled for a foul in the box.

Petrasso scored again with just 34 second left in the half as Campbell was awarded its second penalty kick of the match to take a 3-1 advantage.

In the second half, Reis scored his second goal of the match as he converted on another ETSU penalty kick in the 51st minute to cut the Camel lead to 3-2.

ETSU evened the match at 3-3 in the 60th minute as Theo Yang (Lilburn, Ga.) knocked home the rebound from an Aaron Schoenfeld (Knoxville, Tenn.) shot that came off of the post.

Campbell got the game-winner in the 80th minute as Austin Skakle found Terry who chipped the ball past Rosman to make the final 4-3.

The Bucs are back in action on Friday at 4 p.m. as they host Florida Gulf Coast. For more information on Buccaneer men's soccer and all other Buccaneer athletic news, please visit www.ETSUBucs.com.
