ETSU men's soccer to take on nationally ranked Tar Heels

Friday, September 26, 2008

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Sept. 26, 2008) - The ETSU men's soccer team is set to take on 15th ranked North Carolina in the Bucs first big test of the season Saturday at 7 p.m. at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill.

The Bucs (4-2) enter Saturday's contest coming off of a 2-0 win over High Point this past Saturday. Sean Hoek (Newburgh, Ind.) tallied his team-leading third goal of the season in the match, while Andrew Brown (Montego Bay, Jamaica) put the game away with a last minute goal from 45 yards out.

The Tar Heels (5-1-1) defeated Elon 2-1 Wednesday in a tight, back and forth match. North Carolina has been ranked as high as 7th in the country, but a loss to 16th ranked Boston College last Friday dropped them out of the top ten. The Tar Heels are led by Eddie Ababio, who has five goals and an assist on the season, including a game winning goal against South Carolina.
