ETSU men's soccer drops close match to Campbell, 1-0
James Holt Saturday, October 25, 2008 JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2008) - The ETSU men's soccer team dropped a close soccer match to first place Campbell Saturday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium, 1-0. "I am very happy with the performance of the team today"," said head coach Scott Calabrese. "I think we responded well to our game against Mercer. Our attitude was excellent, and our work rate was really good." The Bucs (5-8-1, 1-5-1 A-Sun) had a couple chances in the first half, but were outshot by the Camels 5-3 in the half. The game remained scoreless at the half as neither team was able to get on the board. In the second half, ETSU took control of play, but could not put away its scoring chances. In the 65th minute Richard Jata put ETSU had a couple chances late in the match, but "I think we were a bit unlucky to lose the game," Calabrese said. "We created a lot of chances and limited their chances. I am never happy to not get three points from a game, but when you look at it we had a genuine chance to beat the best team in the conference. I think that bodes well for us going into the last two conference games as we look to make the conference tournament." The Camels outshot ETSU 11-10 in the match.
