JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 26, 2007) - New men's soccer coach Scott Calabrese has announced that the university will host the first-ever Buccaneer Soccer Academy in June of this year.

"The mission of the Buccaneer Soccer Academy is to create an intense, challenging and fun training environment," said Calabrese, who is the former camp director for the Clemson and UNC Tarheel Soccer Academies.

The men's advanced camp will be held June 25 - 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the athletic practice fields beside the Center for Physical Activity at ETSU. Days will be broken into three sessions with morning sessions focusing on technical skills, afternoon sessions improving tactical awareness and decision making, and evening sessions being devoted to 8v8 or 11v11 games with high-level coaching direction. 

"I'm very excited to offer the first ever Buccaneer Soccer Academy to the community," Calabrese said. "We're planning to bring some of the top coaches from universities and club programs to create and establish a great camp for years to come."
