Rich Pruchnik shaved two strokes off Chris Hickman's lead on the opening hole Thursday in the final round of the Delaware State Golf Association Amateur Championship.

But Hickman still led by five shots, and three holes later, he extended the margin to eight. The 20-year-old from Centreville, Maryland, wasn't at his best, but he didn't have to be and cruised to a seven-stroke victory at Cavaliers Country Club.

"I was really just trying to stay offensive, even though I had such a big lead," Hickman said. "I was trying to extend my lead, but things just weren't coming together. I missed a couple of putts, and I just really had to hang in there."
