JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 8, 2009) - Former ETSU standout Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) continues to see his professional golf career blossom.

A 2007 graduate of ETSU and a three-time first-team All-American, Davies has spent the last two seasons honing his skills on the professional circuits across the globe. Just this past weekend, Davies won for the second time this year, besting the field at the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana on the Canary Islands. Davies fired a final round 67 at the Tecina Golf Club on La Gomera to beat out Swede Steven Jeppesen by one stroke.

While standing currently sixth on the Challenge Tour rankings, Davies has all but secured a card on the European Tour next season. However, Davies could also finalize his card privileges by winning a third Challenge Tour event later this year.
