AUGUSTA, Ga. (April 2, 2006) - The No. 9-ranked ETSU men's golf team improved three strokes over its previous two rounds at the Administaff ASU Invitational, but it was only enough to move up one spot on the team leaderboard for a 10th-place finish Sunday at the Champions Retreat Golf Club. ETSU finished with a team score of 882 (295-295-292).

The team championship went to Coastal Carolina (854) by five strokes over nearby USC-Aiken. However, Scott Brown did bring home some hardware for the Aiken squad, capturing the individual championship by one stroke over Dustin Johnson of Coastal Carolina. Brown fired a final round of 4-under 68 to hold off Johnson's 69.

As for the Bucs, junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) - the nation's No. 5-ranked player - fired a final round 1-under 71 to move up from a tie in 31st to a final finish of 19th. Meanwhile, freshman Adam Hodkinson (Dore, England) and sophomore Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) both finished tied for 33rd, while sophomore Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) ended the event tied for 43rd.

The Bucs will not take much time off before their next event. The team will be in Atlanta, Ga., for first round play in the U.S. Collegiate Champoinship on April 10. For complete results and updated information on ETSU men's golf, visit ETSUBucs.com.
