(March 8, 2005) - Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) left little doubt.

Shooting a 1-under-par 71 on Tuesday, the East Tennessee State sophomore golfer recorded his third straight sub-par round, finishing with a 9-under 207 en route to capturing the individual championship at the Seminole Intercollegiate. It was the second individual title of 2004-05 for Davies - his fourth Top 3 finish in five events this season - and the 207 was a career-best, three-round score for the sophomore.

Davies - who captured first place by six strokes over second-place Moises Cobo of Coastal Carolina - helped the Bucs to an 8th-place team finish at the Golden Eagle Country Club. ETSU finished 30 strokes back of Coastal Carolina, which captured the team championship with a three-round score of 2-over-par 866.

Along with Davies, other ETSU finishes included a 29th-place showing from freshman Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) and a 45th-place effort from senior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales). Sophomore Stephen Arnold (Langhorne, Pa.) finished 64th, while freshman Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) returned after missing Monday's second round due to an illness and fired a 4-under-par 68.

The Bucs will return to play March 13 at the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
