ETSU men's golf team still trying to make up ground
Saturday, October 04, 2003 DALTON, Ga. (October 4, 2003) - While Clemson continued to role with a four-stroke lead over the Florida during Saturday's second round play at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, the East Tennessee State University men's golf team continued to try and make a move at the Farm Golf Club. The Bucs are currently 17th with one round left to play on Sunday. Freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) continues to lead the Bucs individually, shooting a 2-over-par 74 and finishing the day tied for 32nd at 3-over for the event (73-74=147). Meanwhile, junior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) finished tied for 41st at 149 (77-72), sophomore Chase Baldwin (Plant City, Fla.) ended the day at 11-over, sophomore Noel Kavanagh (Westport, Ireland) is at 16-over, and junior Marco Trejos (San Jose, Costa Rica) finished at 20-over. On the individual leaderboard, Texas' Jason Hartwick is currently three strokes up on Clemson's Jack Ferguson and Augusta State's James Heath. The Bucs will finish the event with third-round play on Sunday.
