ETSU men currently 11th at Landfall Tradition
Friday, October 31, 2003 WILMINGTON, N.C. (October 31, 2003) - The East Tennessee State's men's golf team finished the first round of the Landfall Tradition in 11th place, 21 strokes back of first-place Minnesota following Friday's play at the Country Club of Landfall's Nicklaus Course.The Buccaneers were led by freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales), who posted an even-par 72 for the day and finished tied for 10th. Davies trails individual leader Justin Collins of Ohio State by six strokes, after Collins swept to a three-stroke lead over Tennessee's John Scott Rattan and Minnesota's Justin Smith, who are both currently tied for second. As for the rest of the Bucs, junior Chase Baldwin (Plant City, Fla.) tied for 22nd at 3-over, junior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) tied for 41st at 5-over, junior Jeremy Hobson (Thonotosassa, Fla.) tied for 55th at 9-over, and sophomore Andrew Paduch (Johnson City) ended the day tied for 57th at 11-over. The event will continue with second round play Saturday at the Country Club of Landfall, and final round play will culminate on Sunday.
