AWENDAW, S.C. (March 30, 2010) - Sophomore Michael Stewart (Troon, Scotland) and junior Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) posted scores of 2-under-par 69 to lead the ETSU men's golf team Tuesday during final round play in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
Stewart finished with back-to-back rounds of 69 and ended the event tied for 14th on the individual leaderboard, which stood as the Buccaneers' best performance of the event. Meanwhile, senior Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) finished tied for 27th, while Enoch's final round efforts lifted him to a tie for 41st.
On the team leaderboard, the 29th-ranked Buccaneers ended the event in 12th, while No. 28 LSU captured the team title by one stroke over No. 34-ranked Wake Forest. The event's 15-team field sported 12 squads ranked in the nation's Top 46.
Individually, N.C. State's Matt Hill led from start to finish and won by two strokes over Wake Forest's Lee Bedford.
Other ETSU results included a finish of 59th by junior Paul O'Kane (Castledawson, Northern Ireland).
The Bucs will return to action April 12 at the Wofford Invitational, which will be their final tune up prior to the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships which are set for April 19 in Braselton, Ga. For more on ETSU men's golf, visit ETSUBucs.com.
