ROCKY FACE, Ga. (Sept. 13, 2008) - True freshman Michael Stewart (Troon, Scotland) posted a team-best 2-under-par 70 during Saturday's second round in the Carpet Capital Collegiate, keeping the ETSU men's golf team in second place and just three strokes off the lead heading into Sunday's third and final round at the Farm Golf Club.

In addition to Stewart's efforts, ETSU also got quality performances from sophomore Paul O'Kane (
"We actually played fairly well again today and we feel fortunate to be in position to challenge for the lead tomorrow," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "The guys have done some good things this weekend and that's encouraging because the course is playing very difficult, which is obvious because par is a great score.
"We have a young team, but they've played very well. Paul and Michael have been especially consistent so far."
