Canned food drive to be held next Monday and Tuesday

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 13, 2011) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee are teaming up to help those in need this holiday season.

Fans who attend the ETSU men’s basketball game versus Milligan on Monday, Dec. 20 will receive half-price admission when they bring a canned food item to the gate.

Then, the following night (Dec. 21) as the Lady Bucs return home to face Morehead State, fans that bring canned food items will get in for a Buc ($1).

"We feel this promotion is a way to give back to our fans, but it's also a way for those to give back to the community”, said Sara Hacker, Director of Marketing and Corporate Development. “We've built a strong relationship with those at the Second Harvest Food Bank and we're hoping to donate lot of food in the upcoming days."

Both games begin at 7 p.m. inside the MSHA Athletic Center.

For those who can't attend either game but would like to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank, visit http://www.netfoodbank.org/.
