Tipoff party features food, fun, scrimmages, dunk contest and more

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2011) – For the fourth straight year, the ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association (BASA) are inviting Buccaneer fans to welcome the 2011-12 basketball season at the “Bluenanza” tipoff event presented by Johnson City Honda on Thursday, Oct. 20 inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.

The event begins with a complimentary indoor tailgate buffet for ETSU students and BASA members who are Buccaneer season ticket holders at 6 p.m., followed by the event itself at 7 p.m. Admission is free to the public.

The Bluenanza – which will be highlighted by scrimmages for both the ETSU men’s and women’s teams, a 3-point shooting contest, and a slam dunk contest – will also feature prize giveaways for both students and fans.
