JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 4, 2006) - East Tennessee State University men's basketball coach Murry Bartow announced on Tuesday that freshman guard Shaun Keaton has requested and will receive permission to transfer at the end of the 2005-06 school year.

Keaton, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard from Albany, Ga., played in 15 games for the Bucs this season, collecting seven rebounds, seven assists and 11 points in those contests.

"Shaun is a great person and we wish him the best in the future," Bartow said.

The Buccaneers will return nine of 13 players from the 2005-06 roster next season. National signing day for basketball is Wednesday, April 12, and the Bucs have three open scholarships to be filled. The team signed two players during the early signing period last fall.
