(Oct. 25, 2004) - The East Tennessee State University men's basketball team will highlight the Homecoming 2004 weekend when they play their annual Blue-Gold Scrimmage game on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. in Brooks Gym. Tickets for the scrimmage are $2 with proceeds benefiting the Children's Hospital at Johnson City Medical Center.

The scrimmage will be an intra-squad affair, which means Buccaneer fans will get a good look at each and every player on the 2004-05 roster. The ETSU cheerleaders and band will also be present for the event.

In addition to the scrimmage, Mountain States Health Alliance will be providing several door prizes for fans, there will be a Mascot game at halftime, schedule posters for the 2004-05 season will be handed out, members of the 1988 to 1992 men's basketball teams will be in attendance and welcomed at halftime, there will be announcements for winners of various Homecoming competitions, and fans will be able to get autographs at the end of the scrimmage.

"We're very happy to be doing something that is not only exciting for our fans, but also benefits a worthy organization such as the Children's Hospital," said ETSU men's head coach Murry Bartow. "We're glad to do our part as a team."

The Buccaneers will be in action again on Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. in Brooks Gym, playing their only scrimmage of the year against VASDA USA. Tickets for that scrimmage will be $5, with season ticket holders admitted for free. ETSU will open its 2004-05 regular season on Nov. 20 at home against UVa.-Wise in Memorial Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
