JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2005) - ESPN announced on Monday the pairings for its Bracket Busters Saturday, which is scheduled for Feb. 19.

 

Of the four Southern Conference schools that were included in the 2005 ESPN Bracket Busters pool, none were selected to participate in the 11 televised games scheduled to air on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Fullcourt. East Tennessee State, Chattanooga, College of Charleston and Georgia Southern were the four SoCon schools eligible to be chosen.

 

All four schools will still play non-conference opponents on Feb. 19, with the Buccaneers scheduled to host Austin Peay at Memorial Center. Game time is set for 4 p.m.

 

As part of the game contract, the Bucs will play a return game against the Governors in Clarksville, Tenn., during the 2005-06 season.

 

"We like this pairing because it gives us a good game with an in-state program," said ETSU head coach Murry Bartow. "Especially next year with the added travel of our conference games in the Atlantic Sun, this will be a non-conference game our fans can enjoy because it will be close and drivable."
