Zakee Wadood Named to Mid-Major All-America Team

Johnson City, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2002) - East Tennessee State junior forward Zakee Wadood (Lonoke, Ark.) was recently named to the CollegeInsider.com 2002-03 Preseason Mid-Major All-America Team. Wadood was a 2001-02 All-Southern Conference selection after leading the SoCon with 9.2 rebounds per game and finishing second on the team with 14.8 points per game. He has been named to all-conference teams by many national preseason publications. Lindy's named Wadood as the conference's best defensive player. Two players from the Southern Conference made the team, Wadood and Jason Conley of VMI. Western Kentucky center Chris Marcus was named the Preseason Mid-Major Player-of-the-Year. Wadood will lead the Buccaneer squad into the 2002-03 season, opening on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. against Guilford College from Memorial Center in Johnson City.
