Streaks ... Senior forward Renaldo Scooter Johnson has scored 10+ points in three consecutive games ... He set a career high with 15 points against The Citadel (Jan. 6) and tied it in the next game, a win at Davidson (Jan. 8) ... Johnson, junior guard Cliff Decoster and junior shooting guard Dimeco Childress have started every game ... Childress has scored in double figures 10 times in the first 14 contests ... ETSU is 3-0 when freshman Jerald Fields scores in double figures ... The Bucs have outshot their opponent in seven of the last nine games ... ETSU has dished more assists than its opponent in 10 of 14 games this winter ... Childress, Johnson, Decoster and senior forwards Adrian Meeks are the only four players to score in every game this season.

Consecutive Career Nights ... Senior forward Renaldo Scooter Johnson has scored a career-high 15 points in consecutive games ... He enjoyed a perfect shooting night in the Bucs 85-69 win against The Citadel (Jan. 6) ... Johnson shot 4-of-4 from the field and 7-of-7 from the free throw line ... His 15 points and seven free throws both set career highs ... Johnson was 7-of-11 from the field, in tallying 15 points in ETSUs 59-55 win at Davidson (Jan. 8) ... The Montgomery, Ala. native, made the play of the game with a three-point conversion at 1:43 of the second half ... Johnson grabbed an offensive board, put in the layup and connected on the free throw that gave the Bucs a three-point lead, 56-53, they wouldnt relinquish.

Reversal of Fortunes ... Both senior D.J. McDuffie and sophomore Ryan Lawson have flourished since swapping spots in the starting lineup ... McDuffie struggled early in the season, but since coming off the bench in the last nine contests, he ranks second on the team with a 9.6 scoring average ... His playing time has actually increased from 21.6 minutes/game to 24.7 mpg ... The versatile guard leads the team with 18 steals and ranks third with 19 assists during that span ... Lawson has started the last eight games and averaged 6.9 points/game ... He has dished 10 assists and produced 10 steals ... His playing time has increased from 12.9 minutes/game to 17.9 mpg.

Stealing from the Opposition ... The Bucs have produced more steals than its opponent in each of the last six games and nine times this winter ... ETSU has 125 steals (8.9 steals/game) while the opposition has thieved 92 (6.6/game) ... ETSU ranks second in the Southern Conference in steals/game (The Citadel) ... Senior D.J. McDuffie leads the Bucs with 22 steals (1.6 steals/game) ... junior Cliff Decoster ranks second on the team with 19 steals (1.4 steals/game).

Southern Conference Leaders ... After 14 games this winter, ETSU ranks among the Southern Conference leaders in many categories ... The Bucs lead the Conference in rebound margin at +4.5 rpg ... ETSU is tied for second in the SoCon in assists per game (14.5) and three-pointers made per game (5.86) ... The Bucs also rank third in scoring margin (+6.7 ppg) and second in field goal percentage (45.5 percent) ... ETSU ranks third in scoring offense (74.3 ppg).

Individual Leaders of the SoCon ... Junior Dimeco Childress ranks ninth in the Southern Conference in scoring (14.7 ppg) ... Childress ranks second in 3-pt. field goals made/game (2.50) and 3-pt. percentage (44.3 percent) ... His seven three-pointers at Vanderbilt is the most prolific in that category this season ... junior Cliff Decoster ranks 15th in assists/game (3.14) ... senior D.J. McDuffie ranks 11th in steals per game (1.57).

Starting Lineups ... The Bucs used the same starting lineup in the first five games and have used the same lineup in each of the last eight contests ... The Double-Double Club ... Junior guard Dimeco Childress entered ETSUs double-double club with a 15-point, 11-rebound performance in a 73-63 win at James Madison (Dec. 30) ... senior center Renaldo Johnson was the first member of the double-double club for the 2000-01 season ... Johnson netted 12 points and grabbed 10 boards in the 87-76 loss at Vanderbilt (Nov. 24) ... During the 1999-2000 season, Leo Murray led the team with six double-doubles while Adrian Meeks notched the teams other three double-doubles.

On His Way to 1,000 ... Senior D.J. McDuffie needs 144 points to become the 21st player in ETSU history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark ... With 13 regular season and at least one Southern Conference Tournament game remaining, McDuffie has to average 10.3 points/game to reach 1,000 ... The Greensboro, N.C. native, has netted 856 career points (124 as a freshman, 298 as a sophomore, 313 as a junior and 121 as a senior) ... Trazel Silvers is the most recent entrant to the 1,000 point club, tallying 1,257 career points fom 1991-94.

On Television ... The Bucs have two scheduled appearances on television during the 2000-01 season ... Their TV debut came on January 2, 2001 when ETSU fell at Chattanooga, 67-58 ... ETSU will also be televised when it hosts College of Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on February 6 ... Both games are carried by Comcast/Charters Sports Southeast (CSS).

The Head Coach ... Fifth-year head coach Ed DeChellis has compiled a 54-69 (.439) record at ETSU ... He is the sixth winningest coach in Buccaneer basketball history and trails fifth-place Jim Halihan by three victories ... Madison Brooks won 370 games from 1948-73 ... DeChellis came to Johnson City after 10 years as an assistant at Penn State University.

On the Bench ... Joining head coach Ed DeChellis and second-year assistant Hilliary Scott are two new assistant coaches for the 2000-01 season ... Tom Conrad comes to ETSU after serving the past four years as head coach at Charleston Southern ... Conrad led the Buccaneers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid in 1997 ... Scott Wagers also joins the staff, after serving as a high school head coach for the past nine years ... Wagers compiled a 120-24 record at Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida in his five-year tenure.

The Buccaneer Radio Network ... WJCW-AM is the flagship station of the Buccaneer Radio Network. The network will broadcast every mens basketball game and the coaches show. Chip Kessler will serve as the Voice of the Bucs.
