Poor Shootings Dooms Bucs at Georgia Southern, 98-79

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Julius Jenkins scored 26 points, Todd Shipley added 24 and Sean Peterson had a school-record 16 assists as Georgia Southern beat East Tennessee State 98-79 in a Southern Conference game on Saturday.

The Eagles (10-13, 6-6) got double figure scoring from three others players -- Kashien Latham 15 points, Kenny Faulk 12 and Peterson 11.

Ryan Lawson led ETSU (14-9, 9-3) with 17 points and Jerald Fields added 10.

Southern held a 43-37 lead at halftime and then stretched the lead throughout the second half when ETSU shot only 39.5 percent.
