NASHVILLE (Feb. 24, 2006) - Trailing 58-53 with 7:06 left in the second half, the ETSU men's basketball team watched its offensive game disappear and Lipscomb went on to drop the Bucs 76-56 in Atlantic Sun Conference action Friday evening inside Allen Arena.
With the loss, the Bucs drop to 15-11 overall, 12-7 in A-Sun play, and lose their chance to take at least share of the league title. Meanwhile, Lipscomb improves to 18-9, 14-5, and remains tied for first place in the conference with nearby
"Lipscomb just played better the final five minutes," said ETSU head coach Murry Bartow, whose team has now lost three games in a row. "When you shoot poorly you can look very bad, and we haven't looked at the tape yet, but I would bet we missed at least 15 open layups tonight. It's obviously a hard loss."

In the second half, Lipscomb pulled ahead for the first time in the game at 38-37, and after the two teams traded baskets, the Bisons put together the run of the game, outscoring the Bucs 18-5 to take a 56-42 lead.
The Bucs did have one more run left in them, outscoring Lipscomb 11-2 to make it 58-53 with just seven minutes to go. However, from there the ETSU offense went completely cold, scoring just one field goal the rest of the way as Lipscomb went on an 18-3 run to close out the game and take the victory.
For Lipscomb, Eddie Ard led the way with a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Ard was joined in double figures by teammates James Poindexter (16), Brian Fisk (14) and Trey Williams (12), while Cameron Robinson provided 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, ETSU - which shot just 32 percent for the game - was led by a game-high 20 points from Pigram, along with a double-double by senior forward Dillion Sneed (
