Vote Bucky for Atlantic Sun’s Top Mascot

Thursday, July 19, 2012

MACON, Ga. (July 19, 2012) – With the start of the 2012-13 athletic season right around the corner, the Atlantic Sun Conference is having a challenge to see which school has the top mascot.

ETSU fans are encouraged to visit ETSU Athletics’ (ETSU Buccaneer Athletics) or Atlantic Sun’s (Atlantic Sun Conference) Facebook page to vote for Bucky and advance the Buccaneer mascot into the semifinals of the contest. Paired up in Bucky’s bracket are Stetson’s John B., Jacksonville’s Dunk’n the Dolphin, USC Upstate’s Sparty, and Lipscomb’s LU Bison.

Currently, Bucky is trailing Dunk’n the Dolphin by 52 votes, 92 to 40, but fans have until July 26 (11:59 p.m. EST) to place their vote on Facebook. From there, the top four mascots (two in each bracket) will square off in the semifinals where fans will vote via Twitter.
