JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 8, 2011) - The ETSU baseball team saw two more players get picked in the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft as senior catcher Derek Trent (Kingsport, Tenn.) and junior two-way player Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) both were selected on the third day of the draft.

Trent did not have to wait long as he was the first name called on the day going in the 31st round to the Pittsburgh Pirates, while Reeder was selected in the 36th round by the Seattle Mariners.

On the season, Trent had a team-best .351 average and drove in 56 runs on 12 doubles and 14 home runs. The Kingsport, Tenn. native was also exceptional behind the plate throwing out 22 of 54 stolen base attempts on the year.

Reeder also had a phenomenal year hitting .316 with 15 home runs and 59 RBI at the plate and also was a co-national leader in saves with 18 on the mound.

The pair joins senior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) who was taken in the 19th round by the Chicago Cubs, and is the largest ETSU draft class since 2006 when the Bucs had five players selected.
