Thursday, April 07, 2011

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 7, 2011) - The ETSU baseball team, Kappa Delta Sorority, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and the 1st Judicial District Children's Advocacy Center are teaming up to host the fourth annual Baseball Blue Day on April 8 as the Bucs host Lipscomb at Cardinal Park at 7:05 p.m.

Baseball Blue Day is being held in conjunction with the April observation of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. It's goal is to help prevent child abuse by raising awareness and support for the work going on locally to end it.

"We are very excited to be teaming up in the support of the Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) for the fourth year," said head coach Tony Skole. "Our program has always been involved with the youth of our community, and this is for an outstanding cause that we are proud to be associated with."

"ETSU Blue Day is a great opportunity that both children and parents can benefit from," said Tyler McCann, marketing and promotions assistant of ETSU athletics. "We hope to recognize the importance of learning about the prevention of child abuse along with enjoying a good time with the Bucs.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and there will be free admission for all children 12 and under. There will also be free food, inflatables, games, prizes and other family-oriented activities.
