ETSU baseball heads to River City for series with North Florida

JOHNSON CITY
, Tenn. (March 10, 2011) - The ETSU baseball team will look to extend its three-game win streak this weekend as the Bucs head to Jacksonville, Fla. for a three-game conference series against North Florida starting Friday at 7 p.m.
 
The Bucs and Ospreys are slated to start game two on Saturday at 1 p.m., while the series finale is Sunday at 1 p.m. at Harmon Stadium.
 
ETSU (7-2, 1-0 A-Sun) currently boasts a No. 10 RPI heading into the series with UNF. The Bucs have won three straight defeating UNC Asheville 13-5, USC Upstate 6-4 and Furman 4-2. Senior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) has a team-best .483 average with three doubles, two home runs and nine RBI.
 
The Buccaneers are 8-8 all-time against North Florida after splitting four contests in 2010 including a 7-5 win over the Ospreys in the Atlantic Sun tournament.
 
North Florida (7-5, 1-2 A-Sun) comes into the weekend having won three of its last five contests. The Ospreys dropped their A-Sun opening series to Florida Gulf last weekend losing two out of the three games in the series to the Eagles.
 
UNF is led offensively by Andrew Karmeris as he is hitting .375 with five doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI. The North Florida pitching staff has been dominant as they boast one of the top team ERA's in the conference at 2.76 while limiting teams to a .249 batting average.
