JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 26, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team is set to head to Macon, Ga. to take on Mercer in a three-game series starting Friday at 6 p.m. at Claude Smith Field.

Game two of the series is slated to start at 4 p.m. on Saturday, while the first pitch for game 3 will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday

ETSU (10-10, 3-6 A-Sun) comes into the series having won five of its last six games after completing the season sweep of UNC Asheville with a 18-11 win on Tuesday. In the last conference series, the Bucs took two out of three game from Campbell as ETSU won its first A-Sun series of the year. The Bucs are led offensively by senior Ben Allen (Kingsport, Tenn.) as he leads the team hitting .370 on the season.

The Bears (7-10, 3-3 A-Sun) dropped their only game of the week so far to Savannah State, 5-1. Mercer took two out of three games from USC Upstate last weekend after dropping the first game of the series 5-4. The Bears are led by freshman infielder Jacob Tannis and junior infielder Tyler McCarty. Tannis leads the team hitting .381 on the season with five home runs and 15 RBI, while McCarty is hitting .369 on the season with 13 RBI.
