Bucs pick up first win of 2007, drop The Citadel in 13 innings
Senior Caleb Glafenhein pitched six innings of relief for his first win of the season. Saturday, February 10, 2007 ( The Citadel (1-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning, leading off the frame with back-to-back doubles from catcher Sid Fallaw and left fielder Chris McGuiness. The Bulldogs later put runners on the corners with nobody out, but Story gritted through with a strikeout and double play to escape without further damage. Freshman Drew Story ( The Bucs (1-1) took their first lead of the series in the fifth, on Courtney's two-out, bases loaded single to left field. Sophomore Freshman Tanner Moore ( Third baseman Matt Arnold pulled the Bulldogs within a run with a leadoff home run in the ninth inning, and Fallaw's single to right scored pinch runner Aaron Beasley from second, tying the game at three. Following three scoreless extra frames, the Bucs finally broke through in the 13th as Courtney led off the inning with a single and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch.
