Bucs set to face The Citadel this weekend

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Apr. 30, 2004) -- The East Tennessee State Buccaneer Baseball team opens a key Southern Conference series with The Citadel Friday night at 7 p.m. at Cardinal Park in Johnson City, Tenn. The Bucs come into the game at 22-22, 11-13 in SoCon play. The Citadel is in second place in the conference at 26-15, 15-3 in SoCon contests. It will be a battle of hot teams, as the Bucs have won eight of their last 11 while the Bulldogs are 6-2 over their last eight games. Junior catcher Caleb Moore leads the Bucs, currently fourth in the nation with a .462 batting average. Moore also has hit 19 doubles, six home runs and drove in 30 runs. Chip Cannon leads the Bulldog attack, batting .364 with 15 homers and 50 RBIs coming into the series. Friday night's game can be heard live in the Tri-Cities area on 910-AM WJCW.
