JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 28, 2011) - With exactly three weeks till the season opener, the ETSU baseball team held its first full-squad Friday at Cardinal Park as the Bucs continue to prepare for the 2011 season.
"We are excited to get the 2011 season started," said head coach Tony Skole. "The attitude of our ball club is excellent. Everyone understands what it is going to take to reach our goals. Our guys are ready to get it going. We only have 21 days until our season begins, so we have a lot to get accomplished in a short amount of time. The pace is really going to pick up from this point on. For everyone that has ever played or been associated with college baseball, the first official practice is always a special time of the year."
The Bucs open the season on Friday, February 18 at 3:05 p.m. as they play host to the Marist Red Foxes in a three-game series at Cardinal Park. ETSU returns 16 players including eight position starters from a 2010 squad that posted the most wins since 1982.
